Jyoti was 12 years old when she was abducted. By the moment of her rescue, Jyoti, a mother of two girls by the date of this documentary, she was 16 years old. Four years later and after the suffering she describes and that is here documented, Jioty shows the way to the leader of the “Mother’s House” project, the patron organization’s leader, the police chief and the armed guards, the cameras and her husband to the mission of rescueing more girls, who like her have been kdinapped and beaten and abused and enslaved for sexual abusement and prostitution in one the worlds most knowned child prostitution place: KAMATHIPURA DISTRICT, in Bombay, India. Girls who in large percentage, like Jyoti, are also carrying STD’s (sexual Transmitted diseases), HIV-AIDS and have carried out many abortions. A sexual market place with 200 000 women and children.The largest red-district in the World.

According with the United Nations, 2500 women and children disapear everyday to be enslaved in prostitution and abused by their abductors.

Raparigas que em grande percentagem, como a Jyoti, são portadoras de DST’s (doenças sexualmente transmitidas), HIV-SIDA e que abortaram várias vezes. Um mercado de sexo com 200 ooo mulheres e crianças. O maior distrito de luz vermelha do Mundo.

De acordo com as Nações Unidas, 2500 mulheres e crianças desaparecem todos os dias para serem escravizadas na prostituição e abusadas pelos seus raptores.

MALARIA PARASITES / OS PARASITAS DA MALÁRIA

Malaria killed 881 000 people in the year of 2006. The infected number in this same year was of about 247 MILLION people. In Africa 2000 children die PER DAY (Malaria – Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation).

There is only a cure for Malaria: treatment. Treatment for Malaria is only possible throught medicin. Medicin is not reachable for everyone who is affected by Malaria. Mainly due to its price and escarcity in certain areas in Africa. One last chance before dying or seing the beloved ones dying, maybe given buy finding the medicin in the black market. But the chance is lost – the medicin is not a medicin. It is a fake. Containing in most of the cases nothing from the active substances to fight Malaria. Or worse, containing a little element of the active substance that fights the parasite, but instead of curing, leaves the sick in slow death. And the parasite in slow strenghtening against the cure.

A crime, a humanity crime, a terror action, murder… are some of the words to be used then to call whar has been hapening in Africa during the latest 30 years when it comes to the fight against Malaria.

A Malária matou 881 000 pessoas em 2006. O número de pessoas infectadas foi no mesmo ano, cerca de 247 MILHÕES. Em África, 2000 crianças morrem de Malária, POR DIA (Malaria – Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation).

Só há uma cura para a Malária: o Tratamento. O Tratamento para a Malária só é possível mediante medicamentos. Os medicamentos não estão ao alcance de todos os que estão doentes com a Malária. Essencialmente devido à sua escassez em determinadas partes de África. Uma última hipótese antes de morrer ou de ver morrer os seus mais queridos, pode ser conseguindo encontrar o medicamento no mercado negro. Mas a hipótese é perdida: o Medicamento não é um Medicamento. É falso. Não contendo sequer, em muitos casos, qualquer prícipio activo que combata a Malária. Ou ainda pior, contendo uma pequena parte do princípio activo que luta contra o parasita, mas em vez de curar, leva os doentes a uma morte lenta. E ao parasita, a um reforço lento contra o medicamento original.

Crime, Crime contra a Humanidade, acção terrorista, assassinato… são algumas das palavras usadas para descrever o que se tem passado ao longo dos ‘ultimos 30 anos em África na luta contra a Malária.

Desta vez não é tanto sobre os direitos humanos com outras vezes tem acontecido aqui.

A National Geographic leva-nos aqui a uma visita guiada ao Vale da Morte (Death Valley), no Nevada. Estados Unidos da América.  O aquecimento global, sempre o aquecimento global, afecta uma vasta região já por si o suficientemente aquecida. Neste habitat, aprendemos sobre as rochas que se movem sózinhas; o vale que se move; as areias que se movem; e as dunas de areia que roam, entre outros.

Saibam sobre as novas construções em Las Vegas que vão afectar a paz de um local onde, diz-se,  houve mais pessoas pisaram a Lua do que aquelas que mergulharam no mar do Vale da Morte.

THE DESTRUCTION OF HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI.

While 75% of the population in Japan is under 60 years of age…

While Japan traditions change drasticaly since the end of the World War Two…

While the street interviewed youth has no memory and has the same amount of knowledge of “what happened on the 6th of August of 1945?”…

The first witness portrait comes from Kiyoko Imori. A litle girl who was a few blocks away from the hypocenter of the atomic blast. She was the only surviver from the 620 at her school that day. Why did she survived if everyone else died?

“- Why did you survived when all the other died?

- Why did I survived? (short silence) To tell the others about what happened (and starts crying in hurt).”

This is a documentary from the Academy Award-winning filmaker Steven Okazaki, brings the result of investigations and facts of the bombing and the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagazaki. Along side with the 140.000 in Hiroshima and 70.000 in Nagasaki who perished vaporized with the nuclear bombs, were the survivors. And from those the injured. Some 85% of them were civilians. One doctor at the military at that time, started treating the wounded right after the bombings. He still does it today! Sixty years after.

A DESTRUIÇÃO DE HIROSHIMA E NAGAZAKI.

Enquanto 75% da população do Japão tem menos de 60 anos…

Enquanto as tradições japonesas mudam drasticamente desde o final da Segunda Grande Guerra…

Enquanto os jovens entravistados na rua não têm memória. E têm o mesmo nível de conhecimento sobre “o que se passou no dia 6 de Agosto de 1945?”…

A primeira testemunha apresentada é Kiyoko Imori. Uma menina que estava a alguns quarteirões do hipocentro da explosão atómica. Ela foi a única sobrevivente de um grupo de 620 que estavam na sua escola naquele dia. Porque é que ela não morreu? Se todos os outros morreram.

“- Porque é que você sobreviveu se todos os outros morreram?

- Porque é que eu sobrevivi? (há um silêncio curto) Para contar aos outros sobre o que se passou (e começa a chorar em dôr).”

Este filme é um documentário de Steven Okazaki, realizador vencedor dos Prémois da Academia de Hollywood, e que nos trás o resultado de investigações e de factos sobre o bombardeamento das duas cidades. E do que se passou depois. Lado a lado com os 140.000 mortos em Hiroshima e 70.000 mortos em Nagazaki – os  que morreram vaporizados pelas bombas nucleares, estavam os sobreviventes. E desses sobreviventes, os feridos – 85% eram civis. Um médico que era na época militar e tinha então 20 anos, começou a tratar dos feridos logo depois dos bombardeamentos. E ainda od trata hoje em dia. Sessenta anos depois.
